Indian IT : new Congo ?

I would like to bring to your notice a large scale exploitation by leading British Company in Indian IT industry. The current market situation and competition between various Indian suppliers is used to bring the costs down to such a level that teams are forced to work 15-16 hours a day and are still being shouted at. Clever use of Indian subsidiary to make this more effective and ruthless. Reminds one of the starting days of Congo in the period of Leopold's control. It will get only worse and needs to be stopped.

No matter how you look at the contract, if the person has to work 16 hours a day to finish it, it is slavery. No one is noticing it and no one is objecting to it.

This is happening everywhere and not only in some British Company you have mentioned. The clients are putting one Indian vendor against other and get the reduced rate. No one cares about quality of the work that is there. The rates have come down by 50 % and work hours have no limit.

Very interesting. May I know which company is it ? I can guess but want to know. Does it have office in bangalore and is using its indian subsid. to bully local engineers into working for very less money and unlimited working hours.
